TfL says:

We're introducing more and more step-free access, but it's important to plan your step-free route in advance and check before you travel, in case of disruptions.

TfL provide useful maps to help plan your route, at the website linked below.

How to plan

Now, I speak with personal opinion.

It is so important for wheelchair users to plan meticulously well, every trip that is to be made. OK, everyone plans, but we (wheelchair users) must realise that things go wrong, problems occur. Once completed, we can realise with glee, how easy these trips are. Yes, there are ever growing possibilities, for us. If planned, more and more is able for the disabled.

1. PURPOSE

1.1.Update disabled people and older adults on local issues relating to transport and mobility such as public transport, Shopmobility, street scene etc.

1.2.Identify mobility and transport issues that affect or prevent disabled people and older adults travelling freely across the Kingston borough, Greater London or further afield.

1.3.Agree priority areas for action by the Kingston Transport Action Group.

1.4.Provide representation at regional and sub-regional Mobility Forums.

2. MEMBERSHIP

The membership is open to the following people:

2.1.Disabled people, older adults

2.2.Carers and people who work with people who have mobility and access needs.

2.3.Transport service providers and mobility equipment services

3. CHAIRPERSON

3.1.The Forum will be chaired by KCIL or a nominated individual

4. MEETINGS

4.1.Meetings shall be held at least twice a year.

4.2.Notes of the meeting will be distributed electronically to all who attend. Hard copies can be made available for collection by request.

4.3.Agreed actions will be publicised using the KCIL newsletter, website and other community networks.

5. MEETING AGENDA

5.1. Agenda items for the meeting can be submitted 14 days before the event to allow for the programme to be agreed in time.

6. KINGSTON TRANSPORT ACTION GROUP

6.1.Membership will be made up of volunteers who what to take an active role in progressing the action areas prioritised by the Transport Forum.

7. REVIEW

7.1.The Terms of Reference should be reviewed after the first year of operation (April 2014)
